1998 Omega 2.5 V6 has suddenly begun to have problems starting after
it's been left standing, with a hot engine, for about 10 minutes. It
will start when hot, it will start if I leave it for half an hour or
so to cool down & it will start from cold. Any ideas?

    TIA
    John

maybe fuel pump relay or crank sensor - maybe an idea to read any fault
codes to give you an idea.

    Thanks for reply.

I had the RAC out &, of course, by the time he arrived it started fine
& he said there probably wouldn't be a code until something definite
occurred though he did mention the possibility of a dirty sensor (I'm
not very au-fait with modern car electrics so it meant very little to
me.) If it is this sensor is it a major job or is it worth
    cleaning/repairing/replacing anyway?

Don't change it just for the sake of it cos they aren't cheap and cos of the
routing of the wire are a bugger to fit.
But you are in a catch 22 situation so you need to do something - fit a fuel
pump relay - not going to break you buying one and you can fit it your self.
You have 2 chances of being right - lots of chance and no chance.
