oil pan leaking. Is it fixable ?

Discussion in 'General Motoring' started by Daniel Luis dos Santos, Jul 8, 2008.

  1. Hi,

The oil pan of my corsa B is leaking from the exhaust nut. I removed
the pan from the engine block and can see it has the nut welded on to
the pan. Is it replaceable ?

    Thanks ?

Hi your question does not seem to make any sense!

I can only assume that your car has a steel sump and that the drain plug
is leaking where the threaded 'nut' is welded to the body of the sump?
If this is what you mean then no the 'nut' is not available as a spare
part only the complete sump. One solution having removed the sump would
be to find a good welder to re-weld the joint or you could obtain
another sump from a scrap engine or new from a dealer.
