On my 3rd veccy, but me latest (2.2 sri) has no way adjusting the
headlamps up/down except with the interior adjuster. BUT the
f*****g thins are too damned low even when set on zero. My only
thought is they are adjusted by some fancy electronic gizmo in a
vaux dealer. Anyone shed some light?
PS. thought I might try setting adjuster to zero, disconnnecting
the battery, removing the adjuster and setting the wheel to 2 and
    refitting and re-connecting battery!

    Hum . . . . . .
They ARE adjustable. Have a good look in the car manual (the vauxhaul one).

If they are similar to my '02 Astra proceed as follows :-

have a look at the rear of the headlamp - if you see a small plastic cog
sticking out the back (they are coloured blue on mine) this might have
another cog meshing with it (a bit like a differential, or when you see
pictures of old mills where they turn the drive through 90 degrees). You
will have to access this second cog from above.

You might need to get access above this if it is obscured by the panel that
runs across the car - if so you'll need to remove a rubber bung. This will
reveal an Allen key recess in the top of the second cog. use a 6mm Allen key
    to turn this.

    good luck.

Thanks - that's a rather innocuous looking 6mm bolt, but it
did the trick. All I need now is 3 hrs to change the plugs!!

Why do you need 3 hrs for plugs on a 2.2?

Well it seems to be a late model engine, the haynes manual for a
2.2 (B) shows the same type of engine that was in my previous
model, with the plugs situated under a cover along the top (between
the 2 camshafts possibly). My engine has them towards the front,
and is covered by loads of of electrical and injection bits. Is it
the same as on the veccy (C) I'm wonderin?
