Had my new vectra back from 40K service for a week or two now and have just
noticed that when I press the button to show how many miles to the next
service there is nothing displayed in the window. It still shows open doors
    etc.
What have the garage forgotten, it seems a bit thirsty atm so could it be in
some sort of service mode still?

Did you ever get an answer for this? I've just got a used GSI and have
    the same symptoms.

No answer form the group so far. Its going back in after my hols and I`ll
    find out then.

The fuel consumption issue may be down to dragging pads as these were done
at the service, the wheels were getting very hot for several hundred miles
afer the job. The garage checked then and pronounced it `normal`. This
effect has faded over 3000m but I still see the fuel warning light earlier
    than I`m used to.
I wndered about `service` modes as I expect something has not been properly
reset and if the computert is not counting my miles from service it may not
    be doing other things.

I`ll post if I get any info from the garage

    Cheers,

Sorry can i just ask, how much you paid for your service.

I've had a 2nd yearly service, brake fluid changed, some kind of filter
changed, spark plugs changed. all costing £190 timing belt is apparently due
to be changed my car is at 36K They're asking £200 for the belt does this
sound right.. this work was done at a dealer. also the service countdown,
thats not something I've heard of. I have a 2002 elegance. Is it standard
    equipment ?

  5. you will not get a service countdown until a couple of weeks after the
system has been reset or a few thousand miles as the car recalulates itself.
