not sure of the price now ... but I had an LS hatch a few years ago and
replaced the manual one (some kind person decided it looked too straight
one
night) with an electric one. Took about 20mins .. there's only 1 or 2
screws
iirc behind the panel inside the bootspace, where you can store first aid
kit etc., that fixes the aerial housing to the bodywork. All that's
holding
it in place after that is where it goes through the seal in the bodywork
but
moving the aerial about a bit should help it pop out.

What sort of aerial is it?

I have an 02 astra estate, and the aerial is a short, flexible screw-in
affair which takes a few seconds (have to remove it to use a car wash!) -
fits on the rear of the roof.

If the old telescopic type - I regularly used to get these broken by
vandals, and the easy way was to simply get a cheap aerial from Hallford
(about a fiver), break-off the mounting, and jam the telescopic mast into
the original base.

Could get a manual aerial for about 15 quid, and is easily fitted - its
getting the trim out that takes the time. Plus the connection never seems to
quite fit the original (which is why I used to just replace the mast)

I went and brough an aerial from vauxhall earlier today. Problem is i brough
that and then a new network Q car. The cost of vandals!!!!

What did they talk you into buying?

I'm not loaded!!!!! We was thinking of getting a new car after christmas
anyway. I am moving from an n reg mk3 astra (1.4, 62000 miles), to a mk4 02
plate black astra (1.6i 19000 miles). didn't really get talked into it. Just
saw and really liked!!!
