Hi All, 97 Vaux Astra 1.6i CDX - Having little auto-electical knowledge of my own I hoped someone could shed some light........ On my way home one day I was using a cig-lighter mobile phone charger which (I now believe was faulty and has caused this problem) shorted my cigarette lighter socket, causing it not to work at all and the engine warning light to come on. The AA informed that the code from the ECU was "Air con relay voltage too high" (but said he was unable to clear the fault as he was using the method of shorting pins to read off the code and told me to toddle along to my local dealer ASAP as the light was still on). My local vaux dealer (Bridlington in East Yorkshire) informed me that the code was "Air con relay voltage too Low", left me £30 lighter and that sorting the fault would cost at least an hours labour: £40+. After systematically checking each fuse in turn I found fuse 20 (20 amp) was blown, which I replaced and this got rid of the engine warning light (phew). The only problem is I seem to have lost a foglight and my air-con (still) has no signs of life. Could these be related? Is there anything I can check though my self? The haynes manual makes no mention of an Air-Con relay so I guess someone is in the wrong? Any thoughts appreciated. Dan.
