meriva 1.7td automatic 2012 revs drop and unable to rev up again

    Hi new to this forum really hoping some out there can help i have a meriva 1.7td 2012 model it has started giving me the following problem after starting ok and able to drive normally for approx half a mile it suddenly slows and the revs drop to idle speed and crawls along at approx 5 mph only unable to rev the engine , having come to a stop i change auto stick from drive to park and then i am able to rev engine as normal then continue on journey with no problems this has happened 3 time in last 10 days any help really welcome thanks cliff
