    Hi all,

I have bought a new astra recently and having problem trying to fold
the rear seat flat, is there anyway to do that?

I followed the owner's manual, it saids that if I pull the plastic ring
under the seat, the rear seats should be coming out... but it
doesn't... The front of the rear seat came loose but there seems to be
    "something" holding the rear seats....

Could any experts here tell me how that could be done please.

Sorry, it's not a car I know. Can the dealer you bought it from not provide
you with any help? You'd think for what you've probably spent, they might
    help out.

    Thx mike,

I went to the showroom and ask them, but the people there don't know
about their own car very well... by the way, vauxhall's dealer aren't
that good.. Anyone else has got an idea?

    Thx

I have just had the Astra Estate and you just pull the ring to unlock
the seat and then grip the front of the seat and pull upwards and
    forwards.

Couldn't find anywhere to out the headrests though (

In the hatchback, you just fold the seat backs down onto the seats.

    Thx Phil,

Do you mean in the hatchbacks, you can't actually take out or fold the
seats forward? Because I have the rings you described above, just that
I have got no ideas how to pull the seats out/or fold it in some
    directions :)

You reckon I should pull upwards and forwards as you described?

    Many thx, really appreciate it

Wife's got the car today but I'm confused. We have the 5 door hatchback
and I can't see or feel any rings. The estate we had last week
definitely had the rings and they worked as I described.

The hatchback seats don't move as far as I'm aware and the seat-back
simple folds forward on top of the seats.

What does the owner's manual say about dropping the seats? I'd look but
    the wife's got the car...

I think on the owner's manual, they say it's possible to take it out,
    but in reality...

    Thx Phil

Try seeing if the rear seat bases will hinge up and foreward, i.e hinges
just behind where your knees would go, pulling up the base from where it
    meets the back.
