i have a 'R' reg sintra which got one of the connectors under the passenger
pulled apart by my sons foot.
this caused the airbag light to come on. i have put the connector back
    together ok with no problems.
how do i now reset the ecu to clear the old fault.

    thank you

The removal of codes requires a scanner. Most diagnostic specialists should
have one, and it shouldn't cost too much.

Tech2 at a dealer I am afraid. Some specialists can also do this but they
    probably won't be any cheaper.

Make sure the dealer knows the cause of the fault and that there will be no
additional fault diagnosis time and they should give you a favourable price.

thanks to malcolm, dave & ofcourse Alan as ever...
well the ECU finally decided to unflag the light
& it has now gone off.
so there must be some kind of delay in the logic circuitry somewhere

    regards mike
