  1. I am helping with a bit of engine work on a Vauxhall astra P reg(1996) 1.6
8 valve, and me and my friend are having trouble finding the thermostat in
the engine. We haven't got a owners manual and have had a look in the engine
but can't see it, so i suggested the newsgroups so here i am asking.
If anyone has any idea where it is the will be taken and used
    Many Thanks
    Marc & Norm

Behind the cam belt cover - held on by two 13mm bolts I think.

    yup

its behind the cam belt inner cover.

Easiest way is to remove the timing belt and the covers i am afraid :)

Why are you trying to source the thermostat anyway??
