Can anyone recommend replacement headlight bulbs for an 05 model year
    Vectra SXi?

    Many thanks

    Hi Neil
Not sure what bulbs you have / use, but be aware of the offers sometimes
    available.
Recently I had a headlight bulb blow and I took a conscious decision to
replace all 4 with the extra bright (but legal wattage) Xenon bulbs from
Halfords and when I got to the checkout expecting a bill of 70-80GBP I had a
pleasant surprise of buy one get one free! The offer was NOT displayed on
    the stand tickets!
I believe in seeing & being seen - legally. Safety is paramount.
Happy Christmas & safe motoring, for the new year too.
    Regards

  3. I assume that initially the <wattage> got legalised because it was easy, and
that as so often the laws have simply not kept pace with technology.
(Highly visible flashing lights for cyclists comes to mind as another
    example...)

too true mate. always pisses me off to see people driving around with just
the side lights on, especially at night.
What do these morons think they are doing-saving electricity ?

    Hi Mike
    Thanks for the supportive comments.
One extra thing that most people seems NOT to realise, until they are part
of the accident, is that even when it is bright sunshine - especially in
winter/autumn & spring, when the sun is low in the sky - people driving into
or looking into the sun to try & cross a junction etc can often completely
miss seeing a vehicle with NO LIGHTS (dipped headlights) coming straight at
them until it is too late to do anything about it.
PLEASE - SEE AND BE SEEN - if in doubt use "dipped" headlights.
    Regards & safe motoring

Funny thing about flashing lights on cycles -

on dark country roads they bear a remarkable similarity to distant
roadworks. But of course when you see them they are neither roadworks, nor
    distant.

As a cyclist, I believe in being seen for what you are, not looking like
    something else.

twin headlamps on motorbikes can also be interesting - in the same way as
    the headlamps on old landrovers

The 'projector' style headlights on my 03 Corsa are rubbish, with a sudden
    cutoff in illumination.
Style and fashion over function unfortunately.
