Hello, I recently had loads of pressure in my water system so I took the
head off and got it checked out. They took 7 thou off the head cos it was a
bit low round one of the water chambers. Put new head gasket on refitted
every thing and the bloody thing wont start now.
I think one of the wiring plugs (4 pin) was plugged into the wrong socket,
could this have caused any damaged.
All the fuses are ok and fuel pump is priming the system when the key is
    first turned.
Also it seems to be blowing out the inlet??
If anyones got any ideas they would be greatfully received. (its a 1998
    Astra GSi)
    Thanks

Double check the valve timing and the spark plug firing sequence. Does the
car have a dizzy if it does you ign timing needs to be checked too as it
could possibly be 180 degrees out.

Doesn't have distributor and I haven't changed the valve timing and the
plugs havent been touched. Think i'm gonna have to take it to a vxl dealer
    or get a mobile tuner??

I'm suspicious about the blowing out of the inlet bit you mentioned. Blowing
    what exactly?
also, is it completely dead, or is it trying to 'chug' a bit on one or two
pots? I agree with the other poster about timing. ignition could be 180 out
if you have put the leads on in the wrong order. valve timing is dictated by
the cambelt. it may be 1 tooth out, which might let the engine turn without
    damage but still prevent firing.

BTW, are the spark plugs getting wet?

Although technically correct, I dont think this would be anywhere near
serious enough to prevent the engine from starting.
