Gears - tight

Hello,

The gearbox on my Astra diesel 1994 model is becoming very tight and
unwieldy. However, this is only when the car gets warm. What do you think
this could be? Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Have you checked the box oil?

By "tight" do you mean gerchanges are getting difficult?

If so I would first suspect the clutch - if you have a cable mechanism
perhaps this needs adjusting, if you have a hydraulic mechanism perhaps it
needs bleeding or whatever goes wrong with these.

I had "tight" 1st gear on my Astra TDS a few weeks ago, it didn't fully
disengage the clutch, so whacking it into 1stwith the clutch pedal fully
depressed resulted in a very slight lurch forward, tjis was cured by
adjusting the clutch cable at the bellhouse end
