Help.... I am trying to replace the fronts disks but I am having difficulty
in getting the old ones of. Do the wheels bearings have to come of first if
so how. I have got as far as separating the two parts and the bearings are
in full view..cannot seem to get any further without help.

    bearings? hell no!
remove the star/torque bolts near/around the cetre hole of the disc inner
edge and give it a good wack with a wooden mallet or wood/hammer
    prob just stuck through use

Yes you need bearing off - not a bad job at all.
    Calliper and bracket off
6 x allen keys off and pull end cover off
Circlip on the end of the shaft off
3 x bearing locking screws out and pull the plate off
Big hub nut off - if you haven't got a huge socket you can just knock it
round with a chisel cos it isn't tight.
Pull disc assembly off BUT catch the bearing so it doesn't get dirt in it.
    Remove ABS ring
    Remove disc from bearing housing.
installing is same but backwards - tighten the big hub nut till play has
    just gone
2 hrs will see it done if all goes to plan
    Hope this helps

    Previous snipped

Exactly as said.......thanks........ only difference being no big hub nut
that a socket will fit but what looks like a washer with two holes in
it.....this screws of revealing the bearing. Made the mistake of trying to
remove what looked like an inner nut with two notches either side which
turned out to be part of the shaft. Threaded to take the look alike washer.

Job now done and for some reason the car is far quiter when motoring...could
be something to do with brake pads rubbing on badly worn and scored discs.
    03 plated car shocking.

Once again thanks.........Spot on with a two hour job.
