fitting replacement radio unit - '93 Astra

    the dealer-fitted Grundig radio-cassette unit died a death. Have replaced
    it with a Panasonic CD-radio. Trouble is, every time you turn it off it
    loses all the stored radio stations. According to tthe Panasonic
    'troubleshooting' guide this could mean that the battery is disconnected or
    power cord removed - which it isn't, obviously. Puzzled.... Any thoughts
    would be appreciated.
    The replacement fitted without a problem - the black block things just
    fitted straight in, although the third one (for separate dashboard display,
    is redundant now.
