My usual driving routes have a lot of junctions & crossroads with impaired
views of vehicles coming from my right-hand side. Is it feasible to fit a
camera to the front-right corner of the bumper facing sideways or diagonally
and pitched slightly upward so I can feed the image to a monitor and have a
better view of what's coming instead of having to move out a few feet?

    TIA

Technically, I'm sure it's feasible - if a little unusual.

But (despite sat-nav, hands-free phone kits, etc) isn't there some rule
about not having TVs where a driver can see them?

Maybe you should revert to the old days, and get SWMBO to walk in front with
    a red flag :))

    Hi Dave
afraid it is illegal to fit a forward facing camera to a vehicle, the only
time a camera can be fitted to a vehicle is construction vehicles (tippers)
asnd then they have to be connected to the reversing switch.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

What about a sideways facing camera?

    Hi Dave
    Why is that?
I can understand not allowed to watch it.

Not to mention the car (Mercedes?) featured on top gear a while back with
    the forward facing infra-red camera

A cheaper solution would be to install mirrors opposite the junctions.
