    Hi folks,

Can someone please explain the paper clip trick to access fault codes
    and (if possible) cancel them?

The vehicle is a 1998 Omega CD. I disturbed the wiring to the drivers
seat air bag and now the warning light comes back on and stays on :-(

    Any help much appreciated.

if the problem has been cured, the warning should reset itself in a day or
    two.
there is no way that it can be done via the paperclip trick

Sure? I reckon that some ECU clears out the error codes after showing
    'em 5 (?) times... Am I wrong?

i know what you mean, but i don't think it works with the paperclip 'short
    circuit' trick.
certainly does on some of the readers though, but again not all of 'em.

i must try it next time, then i'll let you know.

I think you'll find this needs resetting with the tech reader. I understand
the srs system errors 'lock' and can't be cleared at the asdl plug. You
need Mr Vaux or a specialist in srs systems. Sorry to bear bad news -
although if you know you caused it, paying for the reset should get it going
    again without any trouble.

Thanks for the assistance folks. The car is booked into the local Vaux
    dealer on Saturday ....

The light's been on for a while and I wouldn't bother at all except I'm
about to put the car up for sale.

    Regards
