Facelift (2002) Omega Stalk buttons

  1. I'm just looking at an update to my 1998 MV6 Omega, replacing with a 2002
MV6 with the Siemens Sat Nav Radio/CD/Computer etc.

I notice that there are no buttons on the wiper control stalk like the older
Omega, and I cannot seem to work out the control of the computer (selection
of display of range/economy/sat nav etc) other than by buttons on the actual
radio panel. I did get the unit to display a list of the key values by
pressing the "O" button on the steering wheel, normally used to switch
between tuner and CD (on my current car), but once the list was displayed,
the only way to navigate it was to use the knobs on the radio - none of the
    steering wheel buttons did anything.

    Is this normal?
It seems like removal of the stalk buttons is a funny way to go - they were
    convenient.

There is no user manual with the car I'm looking at, so if someone could
explain the operation of this model (I don't remember the model of the
radio, but it is the Siemens one with 4xmultichanger in the dash, and sat
    nav) that would help.

Also - is trafficmaster standard on later models. My current 98 MV6 has it,
but I cannot see a trafficmaster button on this new one. I thought it was
standard on higher spec models (this is an MV6)

Got a '51 plate facelift Elite.

(now, I'm sat upstairs in a dressing-gown, so I ain't braving the chilly
world that is outside to get details for you, but from memory...)

Wiper control should have TWO end buttons, split across the end of the
stalk, one is for cycling through the TIS display modes, and the other
    to reset any non-instanteneous mode.

(Indicator control has THREE - for cruise-control [think standard on
FL?] - activate/slow down, speed up and cancel)

Never managed to get mine to do anything with the "0" button on the
wheel - other than change between radio / cassette / CD Player.

My radio is, however, a CCR-600 (or something like that) - Philips head
    with Bose speakers.

Re: Traffic Master - not fitted on mine - you say standard on "higher"
models - I think Elite is the highest (although comes with a number of
options). Facelifts did suffer at least one cutback post-facelift (i.e.
loss of leather interior, as standard), maybe the traffic master went
    the same way?

Nice to see you're staying with an Omega, BTW :) <Dreams of an MV6
