Grandland X (2019) 1.2 Petrol Turbo
I have just been down South, a 500 mile round journey. I had put a litre of oil in my car to top it up after doing 490 miles following a full service. The day after arriving in the South (after 250 miles) I checked the oil and topped it up with maybe 1/2 litre. I have returned today after doing another 250 miles and the oil light has just come on. So I have just put the last of my 2 litre bottle of oil in.
Surprisingly the car only used around £60 of petrol for the 500 miles journey, which I thought was a decent MPG, but the oil consumption was obviously not OK. Does the great MPG but excessive oil use ring any bells with regards diagnosing the problem/s?
I want to get the work done on warranty but I want to tell the garage what I think the problem/s maybe as when I last took it in they told me to replace the rocker cover and gasket but that has not affected the oil consumption.
