Easytronic transmission

Have got a Astra 1.6 16v Club easytronic.
All ways have auto transmission until now. Having trouble with the gear
changes between 1 & 2. In auto mode keeps going into 1st before I am
stationary giving a kangaroo effect when going along in a line of traffic.
Have had car back to garage but they say nothing wrong.
Has any body had any problems like this?

Firstly, what is wrong with going into 1st before you stop? It is
reasonable for any gearbox to work down the gears before going into
neutral.

Secondly, this type of gearbox is rarely smooth. It is not just a
Vauxhall issue.

We try and discourage people from buying them and are especially
careful of people swapping from a proper auto to this cheaper method.

How was it sold to you? It is definitely not aproper auto, it is a
third alternative transmission!

Some people get on with them fine but you never a very special driving
style if you are going to accellerate or decellerate smoothly.
