    Hello

Hopefully a no-brainder for the learned, but are there different types
    of 'dobule din' connectors?

I have a 2000 Omega; I think its the later model one because the dash
inside, or whats left of it, is the later one and requires a CDR2005
head unit to fill the gap left by whatever police gubbins were removed
    from it, prior to auction.

I wouldn't have even minded if I could have bought a broken CDR2005 for
less than 50 quid, just to plug the gap. Anyhow, I've found a later
model CD30 head unit which was advertised as having a double din
connector. Only it doesn't fit with the connector in my car.

    Are there adaptors?
Do I have to rewire? If so, does anyone have a pinout diagram for a
    CDR2005?

    Thanks in advance

    Carl

id pay a visit to Halfords or WHY
they do adaptors for fitting other radios/cd's into most cars
    inc Vx.
it might also be helpful to look at what maplin has
    and CPC.CO.UK.

    there will be one.

The CD30 is the headunit supplied in the newer cars which feature
CANBUS like the New Astra, New Corsa, Corsa C 2005 on and the Facelift
    Vectra and Signum.

It has different wiring connections and as far as I know nobody has
managed to bridge the connections to connect one to a pre-CANBUS car.
An added complication is that these new units have to be uncoupled from
the donor car's BCM or ECU before they can be connected and working (in
a car with a suitable connection) - as I understand that they don't
have security codes and query the BCM/ECU when switched on to ensure
that the unit matches the car and hasn't been stolen and transplanted.

eBay might be the best bet for a CDR2005 - there always used to be
    loads on there?
