    Hi Folks;

Wifey's Zafira has been running fine; but yesterday it refused to
start. no click from solenoid, no starter motor. Dashboard lights
appear to be behaving correctly, although I'm not sure about the
'cooling system malfunction' light. This stays on as long as the
ignition is on, I thought it was supposed to go out after a few
    seconds?

On the basis of this very limited information the only thing I can
think of is a knackered coolant temperature sensor. I don't have much
experience with zafira fault finding (yet ...) but I know this is a
    common issue on non-starting Omegas.

The battery volatge is fine, so can anyone confirm if the coolant
warning light is functioning correctkly or not, or any other ideas?
Hopefully I can have a poke around with it this weekend.

    cheers.

    Hi,
On our 1.8 the Radiator, Oil, Engine management and Battery charge lights
remain on along with the handbrake if engaged.

It would still crank over if the coolant sender was faulty - I would check
you have a 12volt feed to the starter when someone turns the key to the
    crank position.

Ok thanks folks; good to confirm that the radiator light should stay on
until the engine is running; rather than as the manual implies. Looks
like starter motor / solenoid then :-/

Yep it was the starter motor - replaced by the local mobile mechanic
and it all goes now. Weird thing is the radio still works, despite the
fact that I don't know the code and the battery was disconnected for 48
hrs. The radio always flashes 'code' when switched on, so I assumed
this meant that the security code was active. Still, we all have to get
a lucky break now & again I suppose!
