Damaged horn button on Zafira

Seen this before - the centre bit is the air bag - so could just get another
airbag off ebay. Alternatively remove the air bag and try some rubber
glue/some kind of tape applied to the back of the button so that it looks
neat from the front. Piece of piss to remove the airbag 2 screws and a
single electrical connection - but disconnect the battery first.

Car: 2003 Zafira 2.0TD Elegance.

Just bought this car second hand and the right hand horn button is
ripped (still works). Anyone ever tried to repair one, or is the only
option to replace whole wheel? I wouldn't bother myself, but the wife
wants it to look and feel nice :)

P.S. Am I right in thinking (from looking at other threads) that to add
cruise control to this model I just need the replacement CC stalk and
that the Tech2 is already set on this model?

Sounds like your not satisfying her in the bedroom.
She is using the car problem as metaphor for the fact your shit in the sack.

You will also need a clutch pedal switch at the very least as well. But if
you dont have an electrically controlled
throttle then its probably not worth it.

dont forget to disconnect the power sounder before the battery or you will
have the alarm going off for the next week
 
Thanks for that Chris. Had a quick look for "Zafira airbag" on eBay but
no joy. Lots of hits with "Vauxhall airbag" - do you happen to know
which models share the airbag/steering wheel with the Zafira?
 
Happy to help - yes the Astra G is the same. I've seen loads of air bags
on ebay for it
In fact the whole steering wheel is the same. Next chance you have look in
an Astra G - you'll see the same steering wheel as your Zafira.

The other hint is to make sure that the key is not in the ignition when
changing the bag and after u've replaced it, insert the ignition key from
outside the car (just in case). Air bags are rock hard when they go off
(but not as hard as a windscreen!)
