Cruise control stalk for Astra/Zafira

Discussion in 'Astra' started by Uk_friendly_fire, Jun 26, 2004.

  1. Anyone know the part no. for the cruise control stalk. I think it might also
be known as a multi-function switch.
I want to get one for both my cars Astra Model G and Zafira elegance.
Strangely my Vaux dealer is reluctant to sell them to me without specifying
    the part nos.

Very strange seeing as it's the dealers job to know the part number :/

Or maybe there's some other point to the parts department having a
microfiche with a list of all car part numbers on it...

    Tried a different dealer ?

  3. These items are 'special' order according to my dealer. There are a number
of different stalks (apparently) and if its the wrong one they say they wont
    take it back.
As its £50+ the parts man doesnt want me coming back to see him if its
wrong. Curious if they think they cant get it right first time!

  4. Why do you want it? You realise that fitting a stalk won't make the cruise
    control work?

Depends on the model. I have fitted stalk, Clutch & brake pedal switches to
DTI and 1.8 electronic throttle models in the past and it has worked

Most cars these days come with all the trimmings fitted, and just have
the appropriate switchgear fitted depending on what options are ordered.
Vauxhall in particular have done this since Mk2 Cavalier days...
