    Hi there.

I have a corsa trip 3 cylinder and im getting an engine management light on
all the time. I have had this checked and its something to do with the
wasted spark. Apparently because its a 3 cylinder it has to vent the 4th
spark somewhere and its this which is sticking. Now i believe that it can
be removed and cleaned out but i have no idea where it is.

Can anyone tell me where it lives so i can clean it out, the amber light is
    doing my head in now.

My email is . if you send me an email can you put
corsa in the subject box so i dont trash it.

    Thanks

    Craig

Its more likely the EGR valve. Have you had your software updated recently?

    Cheers

Has someone been winding you up?

This sounds like cobblers to me.

The ignition system for a 3 cylinder is different to one for a 4
cylinder. It has to time with the piston so it can't spark 4 times a
revolution. It has to be 3

  4. Hi David

Thanks for coming back to me sorry its taken so long to reply

Since i posted this message i have done some checking and yes it is the EGR
    valve i believe.
Its still giving me the problem however not as often.

I have not had the software updated no. I would like to cure it once and for
all but as its an old car with high mileage im not too worried about it now.
Can this valve be removed and soaked to free any moving parts?

Get the software done, it writes the EGR valve out so the ecu isn't looking
    for it.
