Hi guys, hope you can help on this one!!

Used my corsa yesterday to help girlfriend move house. Done two runs, and
moved the seats forward both times sucessfully. Loaded car with very light
boxes, were not talking heavy stuff here. At the end of the day, she put the
seats back for me, but as i wasnt there, i dont know what the hell went
wrong, but they now wont go back. Me and my dad have tried everything, WD40,
rocking them back and fourth, depressing the buttons. It wont move from the
locking place. There is a long catch arm, in which the seat lowers itself
on. This catch has 5 holes, which obviously serve as a locking method for
some kind of bolt, released by the button.

These pictures further illustrate the problem -

The scratching is minor in the 1st picture, and doesnt look as bad as it
does! lol It has nothing to do with the seat problem, as i did this trying
to get the bastard plastic cover off of the seat!

If anybody can help, i would be thankful, this is driving me mad!!

    TIA!!
    Sam

Thanks for the reply mike. Could you possibly expand on that? What do you
    mean by the link?

Undo the torx bolt that holds the arms on and then give it a wobble as you
    press the button.

This is a common problem on these cars, the release mechanism is poorly
designed and falls apart so that pushing the button no longer pulls the pin
which locks the seat. The best cure I have found is to un-bolt the arms from
the inner arch to allow the seat to fold then dismantle the seat back to
gain access to the release mechanism and see if it can be
repaired/re-assembled. This approach has worked for me in the past.

    Hope this helps
