I am looking to hard wire my IPod into the rear of the factory fitted stereo
system. Does anyone have a wiring diagram of the plug thingy at the rear of
the said item please ?.

Personally I've not seen a factory fitted system with a line in
connection accessible from the rear, what model is it? or are you
trying to drive the car's speakers from the headphone output of the
iPod? - hopefully not. Best way is probably one of those FM modulator
jobbies that wire into the aerial feed to the radio, like this :-

Thanks for the reply, I am currently using the Itrip FM transmitter but
there is frequent background interference,I was hoping for something better.
Your suggestion seems a good idea I may go for that !
 
That looks interesting, although for near as dammit 100 quid I'd at
least expect a photo/picture of the actual product!
