    Hi

Today just washed my Astra. This is the first time I have washed it since
having owned it (a couple of weeks).

Just used a bucket of water and car shampoo and a sponge. Today after a
drive (with lights on) I noticed condensation inside the headlamps. Not
sure if this is due to the weather or somehow they are not water tight.
    Does this sound normal?

    Regards

Common problem, VX told me if they don't clear within 20 minutes with lights
on they will replace units. The bonnet should be lifted slightly on the
stops to prevent it happening again.

    Thanks for the information.

Can the bonnet be raised on the stops DIY?

The two bonnet stops (black rubber) just twist on a thread so they are
easily raised. You want to make sure the bonnet does not hit the lights (and
break the seals) when shut but you don't want them so high that it does not
    shut easily.

If the car is under three years old I would discuss it with a dealer. It is
    a known problem.

    Hi

Just to update, the Vauxhall dealer replaced both headlamps under warranty.
I have just driven home (no rain!) and notice again a very small amount of
condensation in each headlamp towards the sides. This isn't anywhere near
as bad as it was previously as the condensation had turned to large drops or
water inside by the time the dealer had seen them and decided to replace
    both headlamps.

I expect the small amount there now is just where they are new and contain
moist air which has been warmed by the bulb then cooled against the
glass(plastic) of the headlamp. I will keep an eye on them after the next
    rain fall.

    Regards
