    Well the Veccy is fixed.
    But !
The repair is unsatisfactory. So back it goes to get re-worked.
The door gaps are wrong and the rear bumper does not fit correctly.
It looks all wrong and would be difficult to sell as it's all too
obvious that it was invited to a party.

    Presumably insurer-approved repairer... :-(

This couldn't be a sign that some major twisting has occurred and gone
unnoticed, could it? In view of bodge and hence question mark over repair
and true extent of original damage, perhaps insurers should pay for a
post-repair inspection at an independent expert of your choice...?

Yes - - a Vauxhall one at that.
Twisted? My feelings exactly. I've photographed the defects as well as I
can and sent them a copy.
The bodyshop are due to ring me Tues/Weds next week because a small bit
of vinyl trim was missing, they need to order that.
I've not signed off the repair and I have no intention of doing so until
the repair is satisfactory. I'm not expecting perfection but a 5mm gap
and a loose bumper fixings on the nearside is not accetable.

Presumably your insurers are chasing for this - or have you got to pursue it
    yourself?

    And out of pocket expenses...?

Good one, Dave. We all have "bees in our bonnets" - and one of mine is
revulsion at how often the blameless can lose out.

Glad you're totally on top of this one. (But at the risk of egg-sucking
lessons, do check your repairs meticulously in 3 and 6 months time, and if
anything is rusting or discolouring, go back under warranty.)
