Central locking on 99 Vectra

The other day I noticed the rear nearside door lock wasn't working, the
button stayed up and the door remained unlocked, I managed to get it to
lock eventually by pressing the button down manually, although the
first few attempts still left the door unlocked even though the button
was down. The next day it seened to have rectified itself and
everything worked as normal....until the afternoon, then, and ever
since the button has remained in the up position although the door is
locked and con not be opened from inside out out. The button will not
press down manually anymore either. Before I start taking the door to
pieces, has anyone any ideas on what the like fault is?

Sorry, should have read "and can not be opened from inside or outside"

 

probably just wants a service with wd40 etc.
if the central locking is working on the door [clunk etc] then it might have
popped off the end of the arm [bolt] inside
you might have to remove the panel etc and relocate it.

i'd be inclined to give all the locks a good squirt now one has gone.
