Cd Adapter required?

Discussion in 'General Motoring' started by Graham Chapman, Jul 27, 2003.

  1. Hi, I have a chance to buy A CD player for my K reg corsa, however, as you
may know it's got a split view/dash which as well as showing the time, it
also shows the temperature and the clock.
I need to know is there a attachment you need to buy to keep these things
showing, or will putting in the CD player stop the display working?

Most stereos will not work the multi-function display although some (like
    the ones I sell!) will.

For an older car a lot of people don't worry about this.

You can buy adaptors for some stereos but do some investigating before you
    buy anything.

Kenwood and other supplied do a wireing kit i have a mk4 astra and
used a kit from www.justkenwood.co.uk delivery took about 5 days but
it all depends on the model of the stereo you purchase i went for
there £137 mp3 unit this still shows the clock / temp and allows the
use of the steering remotes but doesnt display radio information eg
    station or track titles.

Hi, I have a chance to buy A CD player for my K reg corsa, however, as you
Kenwood do a version of their Kenwood KDC6024 CD player just for post-94
Vauxhalls which will fit with no additional connectors and utilise existing
display and steering wheel controls. It's a good bit of kit but not the
cheapest (although if you're determined to keep your display, probably worth
it to save the hassle), £199 from www.caraudiodirect.co.uk (a good site
this, selling lots of gear and accessories as well as providing much useful
    advice).
