I have a Vectra 1.8 and for some reason the car alarm has suddenly stopped
working, but the central locking works ok. I have changed the battery in the
remote control for the alarm. Is there a special code or something i can do
to reset the alarm and get it working again. Because i have heard that in
some cars if you keep pressing the remote the alarm needs resetting, i dont
know how true this is. If any one can offer any help i would be eternally
    grateful.
    TIA

Not unknown for the alarm siren (NOT the horn!) to fail. Easy way to
tell if you have a fault with your alarm? Lock the car, Look at the
L.E.D. on the dash (usually the hazzard switch) If it stay's on
PERMANATLY for about 10 seconds, It's O.K. If it flashes as soon as
it's locked, There's a fault. Drivers door pin switches are also
    common, as are control units.
    Hope this helps,
