At that age it should be under warranty unless its a grey import - so look
out for it's origins.
Otherwise its checks for crash damage, and check for goo under the oil
filler cap. If it hasn't been cleaned-off regularly i.e. every week
(accumulates during the cold weather) then it might have got into the valve
gear. You can never tell what damage might have resulted.
Handbrake travel can get excessive but that's easily fixed.
Should handle well, and even without ABS brakes are good and steady.
