    Greetings.

Any ideas as to how much the cost is for replacing a pair of rear coil
springs on a 2.5 CD 1999 pre facelift Omega saloon? I have been told
the coils cost approx £70 for the pair but labour costs are going to
hike it up some. I had the same happen on a Peugeot a few years ago
and it was replaced as part of a service so I never knew the exact
    cost.

    Cheers.

I don't mean to be silly, but why not ask a couple of garages?

I would try your local Vauxhall dealer and then a decent fastfit (is
there such a thing?) and a decent local non-franchised garage.

When comparing prices consider whether they are using genuine parts or
    not.

I would have thought less than an hour for the whole job.

    Thanks for the replies.

Got a few quotes and the cheapest was the local Vauxhall dealer - which
was a surprise. All were for genuine Vauxhall springs. Total cost
£220. (The chap at the desk quoted the labour time as 0.8 hour - spot
    on adder1)

    Thanks

    Thanks for your replies.

I tried a few garages & to my surprise the Vauxhall dealer was the best
price @ £220 all in. Labour was quoted at 0.8 hour, so adder1 your
spot on. (genuine Vauxhall parts offered by all of them). It is not a
big dealer and I think you can, on the whole, get a better deal than
with the big fleet orientated dealers.

Only problem now is that there is a delay in getting the springs.

I'd go for aftermarket springs if it we me.
