Brake pad lining thickness

    Anyone happen to know how much lining material there is for the front brake
    pads for an '02 Astra 1.6 8-valve, when the pads a new?

    I don't know the answer but the last time I heard a question like this was
    way back in the sixties.



    It was a guy trying to make up a set of pads for his car from various cars
    in a scrap yard to save himself money............... So very NOT recommended

    I would guess a teeny bit less than the gap between the caliper & the
    disc, less the backing plate etc - 12mm-ish?
