Bonnet catch on 99 Astra Sport

I can't get the bonnet open. The catch has no tension in it to
'release' the catch.

Any idea how to get the bonnet open to track down where the cable is
broke / unhooked?

I managed to pop the bonnet with the help of a screwdriver to provide
extra leverage at the handle end. Once open I loosened the bolt,
moved the cable across and all is ok now.
