I purchased used Panasonic CQ-C1110AN from eBay, which was replacement
for my old Blaupunkt CAR 300 (Astra). The Panasonic unit was
functioning great while outside of car's panel. However, once I
installed it, it just stopped working. Even thought wires were
insulated and not touching I concluded that I must have done something
    wrong to burn the unit.

Hence, in despair I installed back my Blaupunkt CAR 300. However, the
unit is continuously displaying that it is in SAFE mode. Even though I
follow procedure with the AS button, only thing I get is a single beep
sound and still same message on the display - SAFE.

    Plz Help?

    Hi,

By pressing AS you mean the procedure to enter the security code? You have
to press the AS button in whilst turning on the radio.

The word SAFE should have a number displayed with it. This number tells you
how many attempts you have left to enter the correct code. You get ten
chances - if the code is not entered correctly then the radio will lock up
and has to be taken to a shop for unlocking. Its a bit confusing because to
enter say 6 for the first digit you press 1, six times - this is not made
    clear in the audio manual.

It could be that you have incorrectly entered 10 codes - whilst trying to
figure out how the codes work.....easy to do.

Yes, I mean by pressing AS to start the procedure of entering the
    security code.

Well, Radio was working fine till i removed it. It stayed for about 3
weeks being disconected from the power supply. I don't know if that
    plays any role.

However, what i find strange is that there is no number displayed with
message SAFE. Plus, I did not have opportunity to enter incorrectly
codes 10 times, as radio keeps displaying SAFE message even after the
procedure to enter the security code. I read somewhere on groups that
there is some issue with ignition which might cause issue like mine.
Has anybody faced that ignition problem?
