Automatic Windows

After the battery in my '01 vectra died, the windows no longer have an
automatic function on them - ie I have to hold down the button until they
are fully open or closed. Can I fix this myself or do I need to take it to a
garage to be sorted.

IIRC, all you need do is fully close window, by holding button down, but
then keep button held for a further 2 or 3 seconds.

I also check periodically that the safety thing works, by putting something
like a rolled up cloth in the way to see if window auto-reverses when it
meets the obstruction.
