Hi,

I had the VX garage fix my rattley door on my mk5 astra which is great.
However what wasnt great was the fact that a load of screwdriver marks were
left behind where the electric mirror/window switch panel module was taken
out :( The marks are on the plastic bit where the module drops in to. The VX
garage say they have to replace the whole door interior. Is there not a part
which is just the top part of the door rest? Last time you saved me a small
fortune on the glove box arm that broke. :)

Cheers

surely if the marks were left there by the VX dealer when they were fixing
your door then the cost of replacing the damaged parts and fitting them is
their problem?

Hi,

Yup they are going to replace the whole door interiror but I thought that
was a bit overkill when for example only the arm rest can be replaced or
something.

Sorry for the delay in answering. You have probably had it done now!

They are probably right about having to replace the whole panel but I
wouldn't worry as long as they are paying.

If they are not paying, they should be if they damaged it. It is not
necessary to lever the mirror/window switch out.
