Astra standard fit speakers

    Hi,

    I want to change all my standard fit vauxhall speakers in the doors and the
    tweeters. Does anyone know what the dimensions of the speakers are in there
    at the moment? Do I need special adapters for the door speakers? Its an
    Astra Mk4.

    6.5 inchers (for the fronts)

    you will need the Autoleads adaptors to mount either 5.25" or 6.5
    aftermarkets

    They look ok - you'll still need the autolead adapters + some blue tack to
    hold the tweeters as well!

    What speakers are you fitting? I can supply some decent VDO ones which come
    with free fitting kits for Astra 98 onwards. There is also a difference
    between 5dr hatch and the 3dr hatch/coupe speakers.

    Fronts (all) are 130mm
    Rears (5dr) are 100mm
    Rears (3dr/Coupe) are 165mm

    Nope. the 3 door cars are Definately 165mm (front)

    and the rears are not 165mm

    They sell on the Vauxhall website VDO 165mm for the back. Ive just bought 2
    x 170mm Sony component sets for me Astra which for my sins I was told they
    would fit in there with Adpaters.

    I hope your right - I must confess that I havent had the rears out in my 3dr
    SRi but looking at the grill they might be 130mm - the fronts are DEFINATELY
    165mm (in a 3dr)

    forgot to say I wasnt impressed with the sealing or rigidness of the plastic
    autolead adaptors so I used them as templates to make some adapter rings out
    of 18mm mdf
