I have Vauxhall Astra Envoy 1.6 1998 MK4 model. I decided to install
Panasonic CQ-C1110AN and replace my old Blaupunkt CAR 300 radio. The
Panasonic unit was functioning great while outside of car's panel.
However, once I installed it, it just stopped working. Even thought
wires were insulated and not touching I concluded that I must have done
something wrong to burn the unit.

After 3 months of that unit being silent I decided to give it another
try. After I connected ignition wire with the permanent 12v, to my
surprise, the radio started working. When I connected the ignition back
with its ignition wire the radio remained dead. Hence, now I am using
radio by having ignition and permanent 12v connected together. Finally
    my questions...

1.) Will this solution drain my battery?

2.) Will this create any problems to the car?

    Thanks for your help...
