    Hi All,

I have a 96 Astra low blow diesel (GM Engine) which has been overheating
very slowly for a while. I flushed the rad and fitted a new fan switch and
    thermostat, but the problem persisted.

A few day back it split a coolant pipe at the back of the engine. I replace
it and took it on a test drive where it broke down after just 10 minutes.

The car is now refusing to start. Is this the head gasket?

If it is how much is it general to fix (south east England)

    Any ideas welcome

    Thanks
