Astra misfire

    Vauxhall Astra 1.6 8 valve
    year 2000
    I have an intermitant misfire when driven below 2000 rpm.
    Every now and again the engine misses a beat momentarily.
    How do I read the faultcode on an Astra and will the fault show up if it
    isn't happening when the code is read.
