Hi All, We used to live in the UK. We bought a 2011 Astra J 1.6 (A16XER) Sports Tourer while there and shipped it to New Zealand with us when we moved here. Fast forward a few years and we now find we have an issue with the EBCM where it needs a software update. We can't get an MOT because of the Brake warning light on the dash. To remove the warning light, we need to update the software in the EBCM. The GM dealers in NZ don't have access to the software update as the car was never brought into NZ and they say there's no way for them to get it. Vauxhall have been less than helpful by repeatedly saying to contact the GM dealer in NZ. It's my understanding that the software is downloaded from the factory via the internet and deployed via the GM Tech2 tool. We fitted a used EBCM module from another Astra that has the update - it fixed the light on the dash, but we aren't able to fully setup the module as it has the VIN from the old vehicle and won't let us change any settings. There is an outstanding recall for this car from Vauxhall for a different problem, but the update to the EBCM will also sort out our problem - E181803540 is the recall number. Here's a link (see final post) to a forum that describes our problem exactly: https://www.astraownersnetwork.co.uk/archive/index.php/t-176969.html So... does anyone have access to or know anyone who has access to the software update that can send it to us or upload to a drop box so we can pick it up and give it to the GM dealer here? Any help would be much appreciated! Cheers Trent
