Astra Headlights

  1. Hi All,

I'm looking at upgrading the "pathetic" dip beams on my 2003 Astra Coupe.
Anyone have any tips of which kit to go for. There's a whole load of
repalcement "bulbs" out there, most of whick seem to to do little. Xenon
kits are an obvious alternative, but pricy. The ones i've seem look frankly
    ugly also.

Any sucessful upgrade stories would be appreciated.

I have a similar problem with my new Corsa, with the 'projector' style
headlamps. Their range is quite poor, and the beam has a very sudden cut
    off.
After seeing an ad in AutoExpress, I've had a look at AE recommended Osram
bulbs at www.powerbulbs.com, but before spending 25quid on a pair, i'd like
to know if they really will improve the headlight performance, or is the
    problem in the reflector design.

  3. I'm driving a 2000 Astra and I reckon it's got the best headlights (dipped
and partucularly main-beam) of any car I've owned. Sad to hear that
standards appear to have gone down in favour of fashion.

  4. As I needed better bulbs for my rather poor Corsa headlights, I bought a
pair of Halfords Super Brilliance Xenon bulbs, something of a bargain at
£17.99 for 2 (buy one get one free).

But I'm amazed to find that on my Corsa with CDTi engine, I seem to need to
take the whole headlight out to change the bulbs!!

Is there another way, or is this crazy design??
