i`ve been sweating on paying for the major service and cambelt change. just
found out its got a camchain.
i think i`ll keep this one!

I called my local V dealer for ask for a price for 40k service and if it
needed a new belt how much. The guy said yes, needs a new belt at 40k so
with the service will be about 350 and did I want to book it in there and
then. I went to a local garage who said its a chain so no need to change.
Now, I really did doubt this so I drove to the V dealer and explained and
they said, "oh, we may of been busy and parts guy answered the phone".

Now this gets me thinking....... to quote me a price of £350 he must of been
looking on a price board or a computer so cant he read?

I just said, "if your staff dont know if a car has a belt or chain, they are
hardly capable of servicing it are they?"

he didnt like that, shame

And you'd have thought the parts guy of all people would know whether or not
it had a chain or belt.

Heh, the number of garages that are, on the whole, incompetent, is
increasing at a rate of 16.032% p.a.
