I've just picked my car up from one of those airport hotels where they park your car for you, and as soon as I switched the car on the CD made an awful whirring noise, which only stopped when I ejected the disc. Never had this before.

Now it won't play any disc. Has anyone had this problem before, and is there a solution?

You can get it repaired here www.fixmyradio.co.uk for a smallish (about
£60) fee. But do remember that new ones are not that dear.
I've used fixmyeadio on a couple of occaisions was ok for me.

Excuse me? Have you actually checked out the price of a cdr500 lately?

Main $tealers will take £250 off you then ask for the rest!

Very nice, but you said new. The ones you get on ebay arent new. if they
were, thenI would get one myself as the one in our zaf is playing up.

Many thanks but I'll persevere. It's only a year old.

It now varies. Sometimes it makes no whirring noise, but on the occasions
when it does, it is when I turn the ignition to position one. As soon as I
turn it further - to turn the engine over the noise stops and it works ok.

    Weird
