Hi,

Just bought an Astra 'Arctic' 1.6 16v - 1997 'R' Reg.

V pleased with it, but a couple of questions...

Does it have an alarm? If so, does it simply activate when locking the
central locking?

Also - the AirCon seems not to work - when activated, it doesnt get any
colder! Is this simply a re-gas thats needed? Or are there things I can
check first?

should have...try rocking it

does the compressor run?

make sure you have the blower on max
heat on full cold
and director set dash blow

It is unlikely to have an alarm as these weren't standard. It will have an
immobiliser though. If it has an alarm you will be able to see the movement
sensors by the interior mirror.

With regards to AirCon, I would take it to your local Vauxhall dealer and
ask them to give you a quote. They may well be doing the Vauxhall Aircon
service at a decent price although I thing regas might be extra.
