scrappers are very cheap and the same on most Vauxhalls of that era.
got a pair for £7.50 last summer, though I had to remove them myself.

It sounds as if only one of the struts has failed but the other will
probably follow.
They are not expensive new and you should only need one for now but
try and find a pair at a scrap yard.
They are easy to remove/refit.
