    Hi,

I want to add a set of air horns to a "55" Astra SR1and wondered if
    anyone could help please.

The horns have a relay and I was thinking of taking a feed from the
existing horn wiring so that short beeps would be on the existing horn
and long blasts would use the air horns using the inherent compressor
    delay.

Does anyone know where I can find the horn and its feed wire under the
    bonnet?

not recomended as your normal horn will sound with the airhorns.
they have to be wired upto a seperate switch on the dash, or somewhere
inside the car that is easy to get to

Is a separate switch a legal requirement?

Many years ago I had air horns arranged as described above and they
worked very well. Short beep gave the car's horn, longer beep fired up
the air horns which drowned out the car's horn anyway.

I would have thought that the additional draw to operate the low current
side of a relay would be negligable. Worst that can happen is you blow the
    fuse.

    I say go for it.
